Reasons why I love being part of the Christian Healthcare Ministries family

Christian Healthcare Ministries has changed the way my family and I view and participate in healthcare. I genuinely believe not enough people know about this God-honoring approach to sharing one another’s medical costs. Perhaps you are one of those people.

Whether you are just now hearing about it or you’ve been thinking about joining and want to learn more, here are some really special ways I believe CHM stands out.

It’s biblical

Christian Healthcare Ministries is built on the foundation of God’s Word. CHM is a ministry first, and everything they do is achieved from this understanding. As someone who has greatly benefited from this ministry family firsthand, take it from me when I say the love of Christ is on full display through the heart of this ministry. I am so thankful my family and I get to be a part of something so special.

It’s budget-friendly

CHM values stewarding our resources wisely by extending the opportunity to participate in health cost sharing with our brothers and sisters in Christ across the world. We have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ Jesus as CHM members.

There are several different programs to choose from (Bronze, Silver, Gold) so that you can have options when it comes to determining your healthcare needs. To give you an idea, my husband and I are Gold members and we are also part of the Brother’s Keeper program, which serves as a safeguard against catastrophic illness or injury.

You have ownership of your healthcare decisions

It’s true, you really do! As part of the Christian Healthcare Ministries family, you aren’t limited to a certain network. This means as long as your incident is eligible, you have the flexibility to choose your doctor or hospital to determine your medical treatment.

In addition, CHM will share your bills as long as they are eligible under the CHM Guidelines. How awesome is that?! I don’t know about you, but I love being in charge of my healthcare decisions. What a gift it is to be part of a ministry family that supports this!

Prayer warriors

I love how much the CHM team values and utilizes God’s gift of prayer to His people.

First, if you call CHM to share a prayer request, they will pray over the phone with you right then and there. Say what? I know, it’s true, and certainly unheard of.

CHM is not simply about taking care of your medical bills, but in times of need — especially if there are healthcare scares — they are advocates for utilizing the power of prayer for their members walking through hard times. And it doesn’t stop there, either.

Each month, we receive the name and address of a person or family going through a difficult challenge, so that we can be in prayer and reach out to them to let them know they are being prayed for. How awesome is that?

Christian Healthcare Ministries is not only passionate about standing in the trenches with you, but they also encourage everyone who is a part of the CHM family to stand in the trenches with you as well.

When I was pregnant with my now 8-month-old daughter, Selah, we received a very scary diagnosis. We learned her heart physiology would be very different compared to the normal heart. Because of that, she would have an especially difficult and rocky first few months of life.

Upon receiving this news, we turned to our CHM family for prayer, and let me tell you, the prayer cards started pouring in from the CHM team and our CHM brothers and sisters from all over the world. Check out the picture I’ve shared below.

It’s great for small business owners & families

As a small business owner, wife, and mother, I have so enjoyed being part of a faith-based health cost-sharing ministry whose values I align with. CHM has allowed me to participate in my pursuit of online ministry without being held back or inhibited by the cost of healthcare.

As a CHM member, I know I am not only saving and stewarding my money in God-glorifying ways, but also blessing my dear brothers and sisters in Christ across the world through CHM’s beautiful ministry model.

Their generous maternity program

I am extremely thankful for the generous options CHM’s maternity program offers! As Gold and Brother’s Keeper program members, my husband and I were able to focus on what mattered most as we prepared for Selah’s arrival, knowing that 100% of our eligible maternity bills would be shared.

Our CHM maternity experience was filled with a tremendous amount of joy and gratitude. It allowed us to take a step back and truly enjoy and celebrate our baby girl’s life before and after her arrival.
